RADE FILIPOVICH – President

As co-founder and  President of BDA Sports International, Rade is an integral component of BDA Sports International powerful presence in Europe. Rade has recruited some of the very best International players, including Hervelle Axel, Rasho Nesterovic, Marko Jaric, Jaka Lakovic, Kosta Perovic, Goran Dragic and Matjas Smodis. His obligations include managing, marketing and the placement of European clients as well as American clients in Europe.  American clients he has placed in Europe includes Louise Bullock, Shammond Williams, Travis Hansen, Antonio Granger and others.

Rade has established the strongest European basketball network in the industry, through the development of personal and intimate relationships with all of the key coaches, management and teams. He has negotiated some of the largest and most lucrative contracts in the history of European basketball. His players represent 8 of the 2004 European National Champions (Italy, Spain, Greece, Russia, Serbia & Montenegro, Germany, Slovenia and Croatia). This is a first for any international agency. BDA client Jaka Lakovic was named the MVP of the Greek league, Matjas Smodis was named MVP of the Russian league and MVP of the Russian Cup.

In the 2000/2001 Season, his clients lead Virtus Kinder Bologna, Italy to becoming Champions of Euro league, winning the Italian League and Italian cup (Marko Jaric and Matijas Smodis) Supra League Champion Macabi Telaviv, Israel (Nate Huffman).

In the 2002 World Championship in Indiannapolis, BDA Sports Management had 4 major participants on the Serbia & Montenegro National team who took home the Gold Medal (Dejan Koturovic, Milan Gurovic, Zarko Cabarkapa and Marko Jaric).

Rade Filipvovich was born in Zagreb, and raised in Belgrade, Yugoslavia by mother Vera and father Dragutin both of which are originally from Montenegro. From the age of ten, he has been involved in playing and coaching basketball in Europe. He helped, as a conditioning trainer, the B.C. Partizan to the Euro-league Final Four. He has worked with most of the top coaches and general managers in the European basketball community. He earned his BA in Physical Education from the University of Belgrade. He later moved to the United States, where he studied English, Interpersonal Communications and Public Speaking, while he continued to develop his sports and business relations in Europe. Above all else, he views the day he met Bill Duffy as the most important day in his professional life. Rade resides in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, with his wife Mariora and their two children, Nikola and Nastasia.
